'Alifatische verbinding' (van het Grieks: 'aleiphatos' = zalfolie, vet) is een term uit de organische chemie voor alle verbindingen die wel koolstofketens maar geen aromatische ringstructuur bevatten. Een alifatische verbinding wordt daarom ook wel een 'niet-aromatisch koolwaterstof' genoemd.
